upcoming  as  in  Jan  25  2016?  Maybe  I  missed  something  int  eh  forums  but  I  couldn't  find  anything  about  the  future.  It  did  look  like  they  had  a  good  turnout  though.  I'm  not  sure  how  well  i  would  do  as  I  haven't  played  most  of  those  maps  xD

I  had  the  same  questions  about  the  time  lapse  since  the  thread  started.

Evidently  they  launched  an  a/w  freeze  tourney  beginning  of  2016  and  wanted  that  to  end  prior  to  pursuing  this.

As  of  now  they  have  5  or  6  clans  interested.

It's  prompted  me  to  start  playing  QLive  some  more.     Smile

they  changed  their  policy  when  they  went  steam  exclusive.  10€  isn't  much  but  the  state  of  game  is  pretty  poor  unless  ur  into  duel  or  ca  with  nazi  server  admins  and  cheaters.  team  games  are  dead  afaik  with  exception  of  ctf/tdm  pickup  channels.  only  reason  why  i  didn't  buy  this  game  is  to  avoid  further  fustration  towards  development  /  marketing  team.  if  u  have  been  a  QL  suscriber  in  the  past  then  u  can  beg  the  devs  to  give  you  a  free  key.

@offtopic  dirty  bomb  is  a  free  team  fps  game  with  classes  and  objectives  that  i  enjoy  :  )

Yeah  the  state  of  QLive  is  comparable  to  Q3  circa  2009.     Laughing

The  only  difference  is  there  were/are  far  less  clans  to  begin  with.

For  some  reason  clans/clan  boards/drama  never  really  carried  over  from  Q3  to  QLive.

I  can't  think  of  anywhere  that  had  steady  forum  traffic  other  than  Quake  Live's  board  which  is  now  offline  since  the  Steam  migration.

And  yeah  -  they  charge  10  dollars  now  lol.

I  actually  had  a  membership  prior  but  for  some  reason  I  still  ended  up  just  biting  the  bullet  to  keep  playing.

http://www.esreality.com/  is  the  community  site  for  quake  related  stuff,  which  consists  of  individual  people  who  like  to  troll  :  )

I  agree  about  clan  stuff.  There  has  not  been  many  reasons  to  make  /  join  a  clan  first  place  other  than  to  compete  in  a  team  based  tournament,  which  is  a  bit  boring.  I  mean..  probably  most  of  noghost  clans  were  founded  thanks  to  portal  /  dungeon  orgies  which  united  people  Very Happy

I  believe  if  you  had  Quake  Live  installed  when  they  transferred  over  to  Steam  you  got  the  game  for  free.  At  least  that's  what  happened  for  me.

It  does  suck  that  it  costs  money  now  simply  because  it's  such  an  old  game  with  a  dying  player  base.  I  don't  know  how  it's  possible  to  compete  with  the  likes  of  Counter  Strike.  There  are  no  weapon  skins  or  anything  flashy  drawing  new  people  to  Quake  these  days.  It's  also  a  much  harder  game  to  get  into  if  you  are  new  to  Arena  FPS.  I  think  more  than  anything  nostalgia  is  what  keeps  the  game  somewhat  active.

Old  communities  like  this  one  are  really  the  only  hope  left  for  any  sort  of  population  surge  in  Quake  Live.
