 Hey  everybody,
 
 Yesterday,  a  Quake  Champions  stream,  starring  the  "everybody  loves  him"  developer,  nicknamed  "syncerror",  surfaced  on  twitch.  Here  is  the  link:  https://www.twitch.tv/videos/229658287
 The  whole  stream  is  not  exactly  much  but  -  you  guessed  it  -  Instagib  has  been  announced  for  QC.
 
 If  you  don't  want  to  watch  it,  I'll  quickly  summarise  it:
   -  instagib  is  coming;
   -  CTF  is  coming;
   -  1v1  will  be  changed  back  to  old  standard,  but  not  in  the  next  patch  -  later;
   -  some  champions  getting  "maybe"  changes  (clutch  especially);
   -  some  other  delicacies.
 
 What  is  interesting  about  instagib,  is  that  they're  addressing  it  as  "funky  fun  mode  not  serious  whatever",  and  they'll  be  putting  several  playlists  for  it.  The  MAIN  playlist  will  be  with  abilities,  which  they're  calling  "more  fun",  but  they'll  add  a  playlist...or  mode  (for  closed  personal  games?),  where  you  can  turn  off  the  whole  champion  ability  shenanigans.
 
 Which  means...It's  kind  of  a  start,  for  us,  old  time  freezerailers  ^__^
 
 
 Maybe  this  is  a  whole  another  topic,  but  I've  kind  of  been  "worried"  about  the  whole  QuakeChampions  thing.  It  seems  a  lot,  like  a  flop:
 
   -  It  looks  like  a  very  small  team  is  working  on  it;
   -  Yes,  it  is  "early  access",  but  it's  getting  dragged  out  so  long  and  badly,  the  worrying  thing  is  that  they  might  be  thinking  that  the  current  vision  of  the  game  is  ENOUGH,  which  is  the  most  worring  part;
   -  I  don't  think  mods/modtools  are  coming,  which  will  kill  any  kind  of  future  for  defrag/railfreeze/1v1  communities;
   -  The  whole  game  is  cartoony,  full  of  placeholder  menus  which  are  badly  designed,  and  feels  overall  -  un-in-spired.
 
 I  don't  know,  guys.  I've  been  waiting  and  I'm  sure  many  of  us,  for  this  game,  for  years,  and  they  come  out  with  a  game  that  only  reaches  to  be  "OK",  it  almost  feels  that  everything  in  it  is  blunt,  boring  and  without  purpose.
 
 Firstly  -  they  flopped  pushing  their  sacrifice  "bullshet",  then  everybody  hated  the  new  round-based  1v1  standard,  and  they  kept  "bullshitting"  how  it's  all  gonna  be  fine  and  ok,  but,  as  usual,  it  was  not.  So  now  they're  trying  to  bring  it  back,  but  it  looks  like  they've  lost  a  lot  of  the  crowd  that  was  initially  interested.  Tournaments  kind  of  died  down  to  a  point,  where  even  Cooller  has  stopped  playing  it.  Rapha  still  streams,  so  does  Cypher,  Agent  and  some  other  pro  peeps,  but  it's  more  of  a  momentum  thing  that  has  not  died  down  for  them  yet.
 
 
 I  dunno.  Seems  like  a  very  small  team  is  working  on  the  game,  and  it's  not  exactly  a  2018  standard  game.  That's  worrying.  Especially,  that  they  called  it  "Quake  Champions"  in  the  first  place,  not  "Quake  5",  which  makes  it  more  of  a  spin-off,  rather  than  a  large  title,  which  they  would  invest  into.
 
 Thoughts  ?

 theres  "cheap"  written  all  over  this  game.  it's  just  a  click  bait  thing,  because  it's  called  quake.
 they  have  pretty  much  the  same  team  since  QL  (which  was  only  a  good  game  because  it  copied  every  successful  quake  mod).  now  they  are  trying  to  imitate  OW,  and  came  up  with  game  mode  called  "sacrifice"  which  nobody  gives  a  fuck  about.
 
 -engine  sucks
 -small  and  unexperienced  dev  team  (ql  devs)
 -still  pre  alpha  after  1  year
 -no  modding
 -no  original  ideas
 -overall  sub  par  quality
 
 they  should  have  made  an  android  card  game  instead  of  this,  considering  their  tiny  budget.  i'm  sorry  but  quake  is  dead,  unless  they  revive  it  like  they  did  with  doom.
 
 gaming  is  changing  a  lot,  pubg  and  fortnite  seem  far  more  interesting  than  qc.

 I'll  keep  an  eye  on  it  but  you  both  have  pointed  out  the  flaws  already.  fingers  crossed  for  some  good  progress  and  possible  mods  in  the  future  but  I  wont  hold  my  breath  for  that  last  one.

 Instagib  feels  very  tight..  and  I'm  yet  to  experience  a  "shoot  through"  even  when  I  played  a  few  rounds  with  110  ping.
 
 I  wish  QLive  had  this  same  netcode..  it  feels  as  forgiving  as  Noghost.
 
 Now  if  I  only  can  stop  having  to  hit  SPACE  to  respawn  after  every  death.     
 
 Anyone  else  playing?   With  an  average  playerbase  of  1k  on  steamcharts  I'm  going  to  guess  no  lol.     Laughing

 I  tried  QC  a  few  months  ago  I  played  it  for  a  little  bit  but  most  severs  usually  have  a  bot  or  two  a  team  and  its  just  not  them  old  days  we  all  remember  and  love  haha.

 When  I  played  QC  some  time  back,  I  didn't  realize  I  would  be  playing  the  wait  to  be  paired  up  game  instead  of  actually  visiting  an  active  server  where  players  could  get  to  know  each  other  like  in  any  community.  What  ever  happened  to  socializing  lol.
