First  off,  if  you  haven't  heard  about  this  thing  you  might  not  want  to  continue,  you  will  want  to  play  this  ASAP  but  its  not  for  consumer  release  for  another  year.

That  said  I  have  purchased  and  received  my  development  kit  roughly  a  month  ago  and  can  only  say  that  this  thing  is  the  future.  There  are  so  many  demos  and  videos  I  want  to  show  you  but  its  so  hard  to  understand  what  you  are  seeing  if  you  haven't  tried  it.

I  just  have  to  say  Half  Life  2  &  Episode  1  is  A  fucking  mazing  with  this  thing.  (haven't  done  episode  2  yet  i'm  sure  its  just  as  amazing)  Hopefully  you  don't  get  motion  sickness  though  as  some  of  my  friends  couldn't  cope  with  it.  I  had  no  problems  spending  2+  hours  the  first  day  in  it  but  after  15  minutes  my  friend  had  to  take  a  break,  so  YMMV.

Currently  not  too  many  games  have  native  support  for  the  Rift  so  I  have  to  used  3rd  party  3D  injectors  to  get  it  working.  These  have  various  caveats  but  in  the  end  they  get  the  job  done.  A  newer  version  of  a  free  driver  is  coming  out  the  28th  of  this  month  so  I  will  post  back  here  with  some  of  my  experiences  with  it.

Totally  heard  about  this  thing.  My  dad  brought  it  up  again  recently.  Lol  I  read  about  this  today  and  my  sis  was  like,  what  do  you  want  for  Christmas..  She  was  like,  sure.  Thanks  Mega  lol..

Other  than  that,  this  thing  is  so  badass.  I  can't  imagine  not  playing  without  it  once  you  get  used  to  it.  I  mean  who  wouldn't  want  a  virtual  reality  headset  that  isn't  too  expensive  yet  is  gaining  support  of  games  through  multiple  means?

Hopefully  they  give  a  discount  or  don't  change  much  to  the  final  product  from  the  developer  one  because  buying  another  one  later  kind  of  might  suck..  xD

Major  changes...  its  going  from  a  1280x800  resolution  to  1080p  or  greater  (possible  2k).  It  will  include  another  sensor  to  add  positional  tracking  that  will  detect  leaning.  Possible  dual  front  facing  cameras  for  AR  ability(unlikely  but  not  debunked).  Better  ventilation  within  the  rift  itself  for  helping  people  who  naturally  sweat  more(clears  up  foggy  lenses  issues).

So  there  are  some  major  changes  incoming,  this  unit  really  is  for  developers  or  enthusiasts  who  will  be  grabbing  the  consumer  version  a  year  from  now  as  well.  I'm  not  trying  to  deter  you  from  this  amazing  device  but  you  need  to  know  that  the  consumer  version  will  be  leaps  better  and  if  your  only  getting  one  that's  the  version  you  should  wait  for.

Heh,  probably  going  to  wait  until  next  year  then  once  the  actual  finished  product  comes  out  here.  I  was  actually  looking  into  how  Sony  decided  to  make  its  own  VR  headset  for  PS4  and  PC.  The  price  is  like  somewhere  in  the  realm  of  2,000.  I  literally  laughed.  I  am  pretty  sure  it  was  all  a  tactic  to  try  and  scare  folks  away  from  a  technology  that  to  me  isn't  really  a  gimmick  but  is  really  something  that  has  been  sought  after  as  an  actual  next  gen  setup  for  many  years  now..

Made  a  video  for  the  demo  of  Legend  of  Zelda  on  the  Rift.  This  was  a  very  fun  game  to  play,  i'm  really  looking  forward  to  playing  the  full  version  in  a  month.
