I am curious on anyone's though about these protests. The Quake community was very multicultural but seeing the news lately, this is becoming a global scale thing. What's your opinion on it?

In my perspective this is just another scapegoat tactic of the society. Is it fair that the corporations got bailed out with our tax money? Is it fair that a CEO gets a $200,000 bonus while some struggle to find a job, make a living, pay student loans, or medical bills? Absolutely not, but have we really complained about this 11 years ago when our economy was stable?

Fact are:
1. Reagan did increase our tax revenue with his supply side economics and laffer curve ideas BUT our government spending has increased at even a larger rate. (NATIONAL DEBT)

2. Clinton did do away with the Glass-Steagall Act that regulated the U.S. financial system. Soon afterwards people took loans for more than they can handle on their homes which resulted in defaulting their loans. I won't get into detail but the Fed Res Bank didn't help with how they controlled the money supply as a result either. This led to the housing market to crash, and like a chain link, once one cracks, the rest go down with it. (PRICE HIKES, UNEMPLOYMENT RATE, ETC)

So who is really at fault here? The government? Sure, but who puts the politicians there in the first place? Well the voters, since we are the majority (99%) aren't we?. Also did anyone force you to take that loan out that you cannot afford or vote for a candidate that has terrible economic standpoint? What I don't understand is how are the corporations being blamed for the position we are in? Why should they bail us out? It's taking little bit to the extreme but I see this being similar to Nazi Germany blaming the Jews because many of them were in charge of financial institutions.

While I do agree with the protesters that are against corporations that avoid taxes and use their greed to sway politics but some of them have the dumbest ideas of solving these problems. Increasing taxes on the rich and increasing minimum wage WILL NOT SOLVE THESE ISSUES but in fact make it worse. I'm not going to get into more detail now as I wrote enough but if anyone wonders why I'll gladly explain it to them in a different post. What I do want EVERYONE to think about is what if the corporation decides to say fuck you and move overseas?

Please do share your ideas and I do welcome a proper counter argument to my reasoning even more. This is my perspective but I am open minded to change ideas if the argument is valid enough.

I think this problem is the same to any government, all over the world.

You can have the purest and most kindharted man elected, and he may strive to good things for the society, but that will be one man against the system. The result will be ZERO.

Most of the governments are corrupt, and the ''new ones'' that we elect just get sucked in to the already established system of old, that has been there for decades. So the ''new guy'' has a choice of either walking away, or becoming the same as the system.

No government works for their people. No government tries to improve the current conditions of life for their people. What they basicly do, is, they try to maintain the situation, and keep it from falling into chaos.

What papers write, what we hear on TV, is basicly re-told stories. Those are secondary sources, which are meant for the mass, and we all know what that means. There is so much stuff going on behind the curtain...

For instance - my country is a neighbour to Russia. Even today, there is a clear cut feeling of KGB interfering with politics, and they play their dirty tricks mostly via the media. Good people, really good people, who helped bring down the soviets by their direct actions in 1990, have been blasted into smithereens via political talk shows and bad publicity in papers in the last 20 years.

All in all, whatever problems USA or any country may have...When you zoom out of that picture, you see, that there is no action-consequence there, there are just things that HAPPEN, and you cannot stop or protest against them, because you're not in control. You cannot elect people to change the picture and take over the control, because they become the part of the ''older'' control.

This is pretty much what sums up why the years to come will only bring further problems. You want to know what I have been doing for the past couple months or so? I have been buying silver and buying into certain stocks that my friend and I perceive to have the best chance of making gains of a failing economy.

If you want to be smart and be prepared, this is the surest way to do it. A paper currency that is backed by practically nothing is destined to falter. It is just too easy to abuse it, not to mention "inflate" it, as I have started to witness first hand. China has long already begun to rid itself of US currency and other currencies are hampered by similar debt issues. The dollar may be doing better than the euro for example, but if you pay close enough attention, anytime another currency like the euro drops, the dollar is sure to follow.

All I can say is, I am not stopping with what I am doing anytime soon. Smile

My standpoint is people are greedy and when they get power bad shit happens. Its a sad state that the world economy is in due to greed, but i really dont see a positive outcome for things unless the federal reserve gets
1) audited
2) broken up
3) switched to the gold standard
4) all of the above

I really could go on but alas things have broke and I need to fix them T-T
