Cod1 and cod2 are really great games. They're not even half hard as quake3 is, but they've got an interesting skill curve. Played those games for ~5 years, some time competitively, went far, gave up because of hackers, and the game dying, because there was no more "noob" resupply, as Modern Warfare entered the arena, and all the newberts decided they want to be rewarded for their kills with skill level rather than joy.

Modern Warfare 2 is heaven for a guy who comes from cod1/cod2 NOT to mention quake3, dominating those nubs and getting killstreaks to annoy them is super fun, but doesnt last. It's a 1-2 week game, and then you uninstall it and dont want to play it again. The only thing I do, is watch this guys videos on MW2 (not black ops, BO is boring as s**t) - http://www.youtube.com/user/Smoove7182954#g/u Try some, some of his vids are quite good.

I remember when quake4 was coming out, and nobody knew what they wanted to do. oNu was retiring their name, putting it on a shelf, and renaming to something else, getting ready for q4. Quake4, of course, never happened, so chron1c went to battlefield, I went to call of duty, and I have no idea who else went where Very Happy

All I remember is not understanding what Chron found so good about battlefield 2, I hated that game so much for no reason. Much like I hated Matrix (the movie), before even seeing it, because everybody else liked it. Well, that changed right around, after seeing it, one couldnt get enough.

Now...I got into Battlefield. And I have to say...No other game (except, perhaps, Project IGI, quake3 and Need for Speed 2 SE), has left this much of an impression as battlefield has. Last year I've played countless hours of Bad Company 2, it's an amazing game. Tried Battlefield Heroes (lol, all I do is fly planes there), and now I'm a bit into Play4free battlefield (yep, jets...again). Got myself a good joystic, having fun.

Battlefield3 seems like a saucy piece of booty. From all the interviews and trailers, I've come to understand that they're building a game for all those disapointed CoD MW2, CoD BO gamers, who're tired of gameplay, that goes nowhere, and complements noobs. They're saying it's going to be a "more serious" game than Bad Company 2 was, which probably means more refined helicopter controls, perhaps more recoil on guns.

Im not sure, but I'm thinking of buying a new rig in autumn, when BF3 is coming out. I've also fallen in love with fly games, il2-sturmovik series, for instance.

I'd say it differs quite some. The best rigs cant run this game on max with good framerates YET, so you have to imagine what kind of a beast it is. Man...Been saving up money, skipping my gaming lmao, time to come back for some time.

And for a guy who's lost his youth, quake skill and belief in those crazy ass rail/sniper shots in games, like me, fly games are amazing. Besides, I love WW2 history, theres something very special about those times.

@killalpoo, Battlefield may be a good game, but it will NEVER beat Call Of Duty!

in terms of what? I have played pretty much all of cods and bfs. I found bf much more competitive and more versatile skill wise. Teamplay also has much bigger role in bf, you can have a strak of 0/10 but its still a lot of fun helping your teammates. Chronic gave me his BF2 key so i still play it from time to time Razz

despite all those "major" games I will always be a hardcore quake fan. im still addicted to it as 10 years ago

whats wrong with console games? i find console gaming to be alot more fun and i havnt enjoyed gameing in along time until mw2 came out. i havnt played bf series at all but i hear nothing but good things about the title. i'll probly buy both bf3 and mw3 and i love zombie games so i'll probly get that dead island aswell. the only thing that sucks is that idk anyone that is good at fps games on the ps3 and it sucks cus i really miss team based games. tdm ft will always by my all time favorite, i just hope another game title comes ou with a ft mod

BF3 will already have PC exclusive content.   It's the main focus of the game.   Some of the pluses include

-   PC version is the lead version.   If it works on PC and doesn't on consoles it will be scrapped/downgraded for consoles and kept for PC.

-   64 players compared to the 24 for consoles.

-   Larger maps to incorporate all those people.

-   Graphics will be focused on PC then scale downed for consoles which is exactly the opposite for most games now.   They usually focus on making the console versions look good then upscale it for PC.   The way Dice will handle BF3 will make it absolutely amazing to look at on PC.

-   No 3D spotting which was a feature they implemented in BC2 for console players.

- Free DLC out of the box if you pre-order which includes the 4 best BF2 maps Strike at Karkand, Sharqui Peninsula, Wake Island, and Gulf of Oman.   All 4 of these maps were great in BF2 and will be amazing in BF3.

im just a console player cus ever since i moved to texas my computer broke and i have a mini lap top. i would love to get a nice gaming computer tho but it would be useless because i deploy so much i'd hardly get to do anything on it Sad

You could always save up for a gaming laptop if that is the case. http://xoticpc.com has nice deals. Sager Laptops = Best price for performance on the market + no one will ever know it is a gaming laptop. xD
