Hey guys,

been a long time (again) :D

I check from time to time (once or twice in a year (these forums and dev1ance.net)), but dev1ance seems to be dead. I even emailed key21, thinking he's the last guy alive from the old crew. Glad he's still around.
I've recently stumbled upon some quake 3 movie on youtube, while browsing for something comepletely off topic. Sights of q3dm7 and q3dm17 do bring lots of nostalgia.

Seems like this place is still holding out. Who do we thank ?

Meganoob ? How you been ? Has anyone seen oNu Chron1c, or that guy I used to enjoy playing with (not you mininoob :DD), euthanasia ? Damn, what was his nickname, we've spent hours chopping each other @ dm17. And is slinky still around ? Nixtinahex ? Mininoob seems to be around :D It's hard to remember everyone. I bet Supernoob doesnt even remember he's ever played q3, and bacardi...Is he still playin ? I've met him half a year ago, had a few games, he seems to be still alive and kicking. And hello to TorN, we had quite a few duels in q3dm17, if I'm correct.

Who I miss quite a lot (and I bet quite a few of you DO), is oNu forums, and their creator - 4dd1ct. I wonder what happened to him, probably got married :D

So, again, hello to everyone who's still got some slugs in their rails. Gotta love your persistance, you pesky kids :D Ima participate in several topics and try staying around, if you don't mind :P

Sup Godlike! Nice to see old faces again, always a pleasure. Although we never really got to know each other well enough, I have respect for you for the fact that you're like a former member to me. I have no clue if facts will conclude that, but I will always have that thought.

Yes, we owe big thanks to Meganoob for his persistence ; he could have just thrown the website away but he's decided to revamp it into a very sweet and good looking website, all of this being in his free times. I couldn't really help you about the news you're looking for however, I've only started playing Quake Live a week ago.

You're correct about the duels ; I remember seeing you abuse those carefully learned reflexes of yours if I'm correct, where you would do a 90 degrees spin as you heard someone spawn, and of course it was a hit Wink

. Good ol' times.

I actually miss quite a lot of stuff from the old Quake 3, stuff that Quake Live fails to get such as public strafe jumps and tricks. Other than that, the public system works like a charm, and there seems to be quite a remaining of skilled people who still invests time in this old game, me included, not that I'm anything close to be active enough comparing to how much I was before.

Thanks for coming by, and I do hope that your project of checking the forums more comes to life! As they say, .o2o. one day, .o2o. always!

I agree with your Quake Live assessment Torn. As for Godlike, seeing you ask about all those guys makes me sad for when that'll be me...remembering the good old days. Sad

Hmm, Killapoo ? If you used to be the guy I remember with a constantly black tag in q3dm17 games, then yep, I kno ya.

And Riddick, we may've played CTF a few times, I tagged along with oNu in some games i thinks.

Ye, mega has been exceptional with this task. It seems this website is the only one "most-old-school" still running ? DAYUMMMM :D

And I think I may've done a mistake - it shoulda been BataRd instead of bacardi. One of my greatest opponents along with mevizzle ;<

You see, I've been questioning this thing...I mean...Quake 3 Demo weighs ~50 megabites, you install it on any PC - it will run, and you play.

Quake live is another deal, you've got to register, there are quite a few restrictions, advertisments, premium user stuff, you dont have old noghost...And what is the worst - europeans can't play along with americans in the same servers anymore ? Antilag has been hammered ?

I almost feel as nostalgic, as in...would like to start some sort of project, to get old people back. Even if they dont want to play together, but just for kicks, the old bros. Gotta talk to mega, perhaps we'll get something rollin.

Btw, I've lost my old xfire, I'll get a new one. We've all got to catch a game on some nooby q3demo server.

P.S.: Sorry for tripple post, but PHP Stack overload error or w/e wouldnt let me post it in one bunch ;<

They've probably fiddled with antilag's parameters, since most people still think that antilag in quake3 and call of duty 1/2 is broken.

By the way...Is THIS ME ONLY, or does anyone else want to play the hell out of q3dm7 ? There's this feeling, when you dont need nor want to do anything else with quake, just play some old school 2001-ish rail freeze on q3dm7 full-of-nubz server.

I've installed the demo, and to my amazement, there still are people playing the game. I dont know, full quake3 and quake live seems to be so complicated in comparison to q3demo. In this day and age, it would seem that the game should be dead, but seriously...It's free and you can do whatever you wish with it. It's so brilliant in my eyes Very Happy

I don't know about 2001-ish rail freeze since I only started playing in 2005, but I definitely get nostalgic for Texas Hell Freeze. Razz

Oh my god... I REALLY want to scrim in Q3DM7, just like the old days. There's no fast-rail in Quake Live, or I haven't found it yet. Rail jumping has been erased also, and gauntlets are not 1 hit-kill, so it's useless.

Oh man those are some good memories, wonder what happened to Hi-cap. Both addict and hicap just kinda vanished after a while. I guess that is pretty typical for games tho =P
