Well  Vindictus  is  fun  indeed  with  the  dungeon  crawling  and  all,  but  I  was  really  looking  for  an  open  world  action  game  with  mobs  that  you  could  dodge/block/attack  with  melee  weapons  or  magic.  Also  to  add,  good  gfx  which  is  hard  to  come  by  with  these  type  of  games  still.  Tera  seems  to  be  the  best  one  out  there  in  terms  of  development  and  depth.  It  is  still  in  Korean  Open  Beta  and  probably  will  be  sometime  until  the  summer  or  so  before  NA  beta  starts.  After  seeing  their  newer  vids  though,  I  am  quite  impressed,  and  really  am  dying  to  play  the  beta..  xD

Actually,  I  do  get  the  open  world  lacking  argument,  but  I  don't  get  the  dodge/block[...]  part.  This  is  the  perfect  game  to  execute  that,  as  in  you  have  to  do  them  all  by  YOURSELF,  not  just  have  a  passive  skill  that  dodges  for  you  randomly  when  you  receive  attacks.  Same  goes  for  the  attacks,  you  can  attack  even  though  there  are  no  enemies  in  front  of  you,  and  it  can  benefit  you  on  a  higher  level  gameplay.  As  for  the  blocking  part,  you  need  to  play  the  Fiona  character  in  order  to  have  access  to  that.  I  play  Fiona,  and  I  must  say  that  she  is  the  character  with  the  most  potential.

However,  I  will  respect  your  decision  and  not  force  you  to  play  something  you  don't  feel  the  vibe  about.  I  just  wanted  you,  and  those  of  you  who  read  this  thread  wondering  about  the  game,  to  know  my  arguments.

Yeah  I  totally  agree.  I  am  not  saying  I  dislike  Vindictus  since  I  have  been  actually  playing  it  for  awhile  now.  It  is  just  that  I  was  mislead  to  believe  it  was  open  world  heh.

Technically  the  reason  why  I  was  looking  for  a  game  like  Tera  was  due  to  the  fact  that  up  until  now,  all  there  have  been  for  Massive  MMORPGs  were  tab  targeting  and  clicking  to  auto  attack  or  hit.  This  sort  of  stuff  can  be  soo  boring  after  awhile  as  you  just  sit  there  and  take  hits  while  dealing  out  damage,  hoping  you  win  first  lol.  This  sort  of  system  has  been  around  for  more  than  a  decade  and  still  continues  to  be  used  seeing  as  it  is  so  easy  to  implement,  and  apparently  works  with  those  who  I  deem  lazy  heh.  I  also  have  to  laugh  at  games  like  WoW  which  people  would  call  a  "fresh"  new  game.  The  only  new  thing  I  saw  in  it  was  graphics  and  all  the  extras  current  technology  could  accomplish.  No  new  mechanics..

Tera  is  one  of  those  first  real  guaranteed  to  have  a  chance  to  succeed  games  that  actually  brings  something  new  to  the  table.  There  apparently  are  other  games  being  worked  on  or  are  out  that  have  been  starting  to  use  the  same  methodology  I  had  hoped  to  see.  Honestly,  to  me,  this  is  the  real  "Next  Gen"  of  MMORPGs.  Smile

By  the  way,  I  play  as  Fiona,  so  I  know  all  about  blocking  already..  xD

I  totally,  completely  agree  with  your  point  of  view  about  all  the  MMORPG's  out  there.  They're  all  the  same  crap  all  over  again,  with  different  graphics.  My  opinion  on  WoW  is  different  though.  I  never  played  the  game  or  anything,  but  I  do  believe  it  is  "far"  different  from  other  MMORPG's,  due  to  the  fact  there  are  complex  job  systems  and  a  crapload  of  additional  things  you  wouldn't  get  from  a  free  to  play  MMORPG.  They  also  update  it  more  than  enough  to  satisfy  their  customers  I  believe.  From  this  point,  I  understand  why  other  MMORPG's  basically  copied  WoW,  seeing  how  much  of  a  successful  game  it  was,  and  still  is.  However,  90%  of  the  other  MMORPG's  do  fail  because  they  think  that  by  creating  a  game  similar  to  WoW,  they  would  have  instant  success,  thus  they  don't  work  their  asses  off  on  creating  new  shit.

If  you  decide  to  stay  on  Vindictus  for  a  while,  again  add  me  up  "Autonomy"!  I  could  teach  you  a  few  moves  about  Fionas  that  not  everybody  knows  of.  The  game  is  far  from  being  complete,  and  if  you  really  want  to  enjoy  it  once  you  reach  level  44  and  not  be  bored  afterwards,  you  have  to  be  in  a  guild  or  have  lots  of  friends  to  play  with.

Sorry  for  the  double  post,  but  did  you  try  to  add  me  Kikyo?  If  it  was  you,  then  I'm  sorry  but  my  game  glitched  when  I  received  your  request.  If  not,  nevermind.

i  kinda  like  tab+enter+automated  combat  style.  i  want  to  play  a  mmo  that  im  not  gonna  take  too  seriously.  i  used  to  play  rappelz  with  others  but  i  guess  the  game  is  dead  now  and  nobody  plays  it.  so  whats  a  good  alternative  to  my  description?

I'm  not  sure  what  you  mean  by  Tab+[...]  thing,  but  here's  a  fact  about  Vindictus.

The  really  good  thing  about  Vindictus  is  that  there  is  a  token  system,  which  makes  it  so  you  can't  play  this  game  24  hours  a  day.  In  fact,  you  can  burn  all  your  tokens  for  about  3-4  hours  of  playing,  then  afterwards  you  can  buy  (in-game  money)  some  extra  tokens  but  it  really  costs  a  lot.  That  alone  makes  you  enjoy  the  game  for  a  longer  time,  which  is  good  in  my  opinion.

Yeah  that  was  me  lol.  I  guess  I  will  just  have  to  readd  you,  ot  you  could  add  my  characters  name  instead:  "Rosequa"

As  for  the  tabbing  system,  it  is  all  about  hitting  tab  and  finding  the  nearest  targets  to  you,  then  choosing  a  target  to  start  attacking  with  a  button,  say  the  "a"  button,  or  with  a  spell.  There  really  isn't  too  much  else  to  it  lol.  I  wouldn't  be  opposed  to  the  system  if  I  hadn't  played  it  for  years  and  years  already.  It  has  been  around  probably  even  before  Everquest.  I  am  not  sure  if  Ultima  Online  used  any  part  of  it,  but  EQ  sure  did,  and  that  was  such  a  long  while  back.  >.>

Oh  and  yeah,  at  first  I  was  skeptical  about  those  tokens,  but  when  I  noticed  how  many  I  had,  I  felt  as  if  there  was  more  than  enough  to  keep  me  satisfied.  Even  when  they  started  charging  3  tokens  after  being  on  long  enough,  I  still  had  plenty  left  over.  Haha,  this  one  guy  actually  gave  me  10k  just  so  he  could  play  this  one  mission  with  one  of  my  tokens.  xD
