Since  o2o  has  made  its  timely  exit  from  quake  3  arena  i'm  tossing  around  ideas  on  what  to  do  with  this  website.  Expect  some  changes  in  the  coming  weeks  as  I  remove  the  quake  3  theme  from  the  site  and  move  to  a  more  general  theme  until  a  new  game  comes  along  that  requires  our  skills.

My  general  goal  is  to  keep  the  site  alive  with  discussion  so  we  can  at  least  keep  the  o2o  community  in  touch  over  the  years.  Some  forums  will  be  moved  to  a  History/Archive  section  others  will  be  deleted.  Things  are  still  pretty  fuzzy  on  where  the  website  is  headed  but  one  thing  remains.  o2o  will  live,  even  if  i'm  the  last  one  posting.  ^^

I  totally  agree  with  your  idea  Mega,  and  was  hoping  that  might  eventually  come  to  pass.  o2o  is  really  the  only  gaming  community  that  has  taught  me  much  about  online  gaming  friendships.  I  would  say  clan,  but  o2o  is  more  than  that  in  my  eyes.  Smile

To  add  to  that,  I  would  rather  see  this  place  become  something  new  and  great  again  instead  of  just  letting  it  go  to  waste.  I  am  always  on  the  lookout  for  new  games  that  might  prove  just  as  fun  as  quake  had  been  in  the  past.

I  really  have  to  admit,  that  FireFall  game  still  looks  mighty  impressive.  There  shouldn't  be  too  much  more  time  now  before  it  starts  making  itself  apparent.  xD

Regardless,  I  am  sure  within  time,  we  will  figure  something  out.  Also  I  will  be  damned  if  anyone  else  is  just  going  to  forget  to  check  up  on  this  place,  cause  I  sure  know  I  won't.  Surprised

Totally  agree.  Firefall  looks  great  and  all,  but  it  would  be  awesome  if  we  could  find  a  game  that's  JUST  been  released  or  in  the  next  few  months.  If  we  wait  too  much,  our  visitors  will  diminish  as  time  passes.  I'll  start  looking!

I'm  glad  I  have  your  support  fuels  my  motivation  to  get  things  done   Cool

TorN-  I've  been  looking  for  games  as  well  but  for  some  reason  they  all  seem  so  slow  compared  to  q3.  Its  really  hard  to  find  a  game  that  can  match  the  speed  and  skill  required.  The  hunt  continues...

As  for  the  website  changes,  thanksgiving  weekend  upon  us  means  I  will  have  more  free  time  to  draw  up  mock  designs.  I  have  a  few  in  mind  but  color  selection  is  something  I  could  use  some  input  on  once  I  have  a  design  in  place.

i  still  check  the  site  regularly,  hehe

starcraft  2  guys!  if  you're  not  playing  it  as  fast  as  you  play  q3  then  you're  playing  it  wrong!   Cool

The  thing  about  Quake  3  is  the  fact  that  it's  "customizable".  You  can  open  up  your  console  and  do  basically  everything  you  want  with  your  game.  There's  also  the  "glitch"  Strafe  jump,  which  is  unique  and  seriously  adds  a  shit  load  of  content  to  the  game.  Every  new  games  are  cautiously  inspected  to  NOT  have  glitches  like  strafe  jump,  or  bunny  hop  in  CS.  The  only  potential  game  I  saw  so  far  was  Bad  Company  2,  because  of  the  complexity  of  the  engine,  but  I  get  bored  of  it  since  98%  of  the  people  playing  it  are  total  noobs.  I've  searched  for  "better"  servers  skill-wise,  but  only  found  two  so  far,  and  one  of  them  is  "inactive"  now.

I  got  bored  of  Starcraft  2  quickly,  as  in  it's  EXACTLY  the  same  game  as  Starcraft  1  was,  but  with  some  minor  adds  and  graphic  changes.

We  need  a  fast-action  paced  game  with  more  than  just  shooting  stuff,  too  many  games  are  like  that.  The  fact  is  they  seem  kinda  rare  to  find,  since  they're  classified  Shooter  and  not  Action  Shooter  or  Fast-Action  Shooter.  I'll  try  and  find  one...

A  lot  of  backend  changes  going  on,  most  shouldn't  be  too  noticeable  so  far.  Have  to  upgrade  the  nuke-evo  version  for  speed/security  improvements.  This  also  forces  me  to  further  tinker  with  the  theme  before  I  can  apply  a  new  one.

Ah  sometimes  I  wish  I  didn't  mod  this  site  so  much.  Would  have  made  upgrades  easier  xD

Tonight  got  a  lot  of  edits.  Most  are  backend  but  there  are  a  few  that  you  can  see.  The  reply  and  quick  reply  boxes  have  been  increased  in  size  and  cleaned  up  code  wise.  Image  attachments  are  now  displayed  better  with  less  cluster  fuck.  Quotes  are  next  on  my  list  for  that  as  well.  lots  and  lots  of  theme  files  edited  and  for  .png  conversion,  I'm  trying  to  move  away  from  gif  files.  few  admin  changes  as  well  as  a  new  default  of  5  news  topics  on  the  main  page.  This  wont  take  effect  for  accounts  already  registered,  you  can  change  it  here  if  you  want  =>  Clicky

 to  do  before  gfx  change:
forum  post  preview:  apply  curved  corners  &texture  to  match  actual  post  appearance
full  reply:  stylize  to  match  the  quick  reply
continue  on  upgrading  the  core  php  files
 statistics  bug  that  wont  die
chrome  sizing  issues  with  main  forum
chrome  sizing  issues  with  topic  glance
more  html  cleanup  and  stray  tag  deletion
 and  of  course  speed  optimizations

I  see  the  changes  now!  The  website  is  much  clearner,  and  I  can  finally  see  everything  from  left  to  right  on  one  page.
