No  Because  not  everyone  that  work  as  hard  as  ur  families  are  honest  with  tax....
When  I  was  in  California,  that  dude  was  living  in  a  house  worth  10time  my  aunt  house,  and  he  was  under  low  income....
Im  sure  if  everyone  pay  their  tax  like  they  should...  ur  parent  wouldn't  be  paying  that  extra  part....

Not  everyone  is  as  fortunate  as  your  parents  and  relatives.   It  doesn't  matter  how  hard  people  work  or  don't  work.   Obama  wants  to  spread  wealth  across  the  middle  class  because  he  recognizes  that  there  a  lot  of  people  who  don't  have  money.   He  wants  to  help  the  people  who  don't  have  as  much  money  as  others  (I'm  avoiding  using  the  word  poor).   He's  not  saying  "Oh,  look  at  these  people  they  busted  their  asses  off.   Let's  take  their  money  and  give  it  to  these  fat  asses  who  never  lifted  a  finger  in  their  life."   He  wants  to  help  those  who  are  not  as  fortunate  as  people  like  your  family,  how  is  that  a  bad  thing?   Unless  you  consider  altruism  a  negative  quality...

Yeah..  I  totally  agree  Riddick.  If  you  listened  to  his  speech  upon  being  elected,  it  was  very  moving  and  he  considered  every  point  carefully  as  if  he  respected  everyone  as  a  whole  and  wanted  them  to  be  ready  for  what  would  lie  ahead.  He  also  noted  how  much  he  would  rely  on  others  for  advice  instead  of  just  jumping  to  conclusions  on  his  own  which  is  good.

To  be  honest,  If  he  sticks  by  all  he  has  mentioned  earlier,  this  should  turn  out  to  be  a  good  presidency..  I  can  tell  ya  that  much  ^^

You  cannot  take  his  use  of  "spreading  the  wealth"  literally.  He  is  not  taking  money  from  the  rich  and  giving  it  to  the  poor  a  la  Robin  Hood.  He  will  cut  taxes  under  $250,000  and  raise  or  keep  them  where  they  are  for  $250,000+.

The  taxes  go  towards  schools/roads/etc  not  too  the  "poor"  people.

You  say  that  like  my  parents  got  lucky,  my  mom's  mom  had  six  children  and  lived  on  a  lower  income,  it  was  tough  for  them.  Anyone  can  do  what  my  parents  did  and  work  hard  to  get  to  a  high  position  no  matter  where  they  started.  The  best  story  would  be  my  uncle  on  my  dad's  side  of  the  family  though.  He  dropped  out  of  high  school  and  left  his  parents  house  and  worked  in  a  lure  factory  sweeping  floors.  He  lived  in  a  shack  and  had  a  hard  time  finding  a  meal  everyday.  Now  he's  the  owner  of  the  lure  company  and  had  millions  on  top  of  multiple  houses,  cars  and  boats.  He  finished  high  school  eventually  and  got  his  masters  degree  in  business.  My  uncle  never  had  any  handouts,  welfare,  food  stamps  ect...  I  don't  understand  how  you  can  say  it's  not  about  how  hard  you  work,  because  quite  frankly  that's  bullshit.

Obama's  tax  plan  is  exactly  what  Bill  Clinton  did  when  he  was  in  office.  And  what  did  that  create?  One  of  the  best  economies  in  the  history  of  the  United  States.  A  far  cry  from  where  we  are  now.

You  say  that  anybody  can  become  successful?   Sorry  but  you're  living  in  a  fantasy  world  filled  with  delusions.   Everybody  deserves  to  be  successful,  sure...but  it  has  nothing  to  do  with  what  people  deserve.   We  get  what  we  get  and  what  happens  happens,  but  as  individuals  and  as  a  whole,  if  there  is  any  way  that  we  can  make  society  better  and  more  equal,  even  by  the  smallest  of  margins,  we  should  take  it.   Frankly,  I  believe  that  you  just  like  being  greedy  and  selfish.

Also,  I  never  said  it  wasn't  about  how  hard  you  worked  lol.   People  who  work  hard  to  do  what  they've  done  are  rewarded  and  they  should  be,  that  doesn't  mean  they  deserve  to  be  put  ahead  of  others.   I  don't  mean  that  your  parents  got  lucky,  I  mean  that  they  are  lucky.   You  have  to  be  the  right  kind  of  person,  with  the  right  kind  of  resources,  with  the  right  kind  of  opportunity  to  do  great  things.   Why  should  the  people  who  don't  aspire  to  become  owners  of  companies,  the  ones  who  have  a  passion  in  a  field  that  doesn't  generate  as  much  money  and  opportunities  as  others  suffer?

I'm  going  to  stop  now  because  I  don't  want  this  to  turn  into  a  great  big  debate  but  if  you  want  to  say  something  to  me  you  can  PM  me  or  talk  to  me  on  MSN.   I'm  Canadian  so  I  don't  have  the  best  understanding  of  everything  that  is  happening  but  I  find  your  argument  incredibly  selfish  and  stupid  -_-.

 life  is  not  about  money.
life  is  about  enjoying  what  you  do.
what  we  need  is  an  environment  where  everyone  has  an  equal  opportunity  to  do  what  ever  they  want  (within  reason  you  sick  bastards).
what  socialism  does  is  change  the  purpose  of  life  from  making  money  to  something  more  spiritual  (in  a  sense).  life  is  no  longer  about  surviving,  it  is  about  advancing  your  understanding  of  reality.

now  socialism  doesn't  work  in  practice,  and  even  in  theory  it  is  not  perfect.  but  what  we  have  now,  and  even  what  obama  wants  is  nothing  anywhere  near  socialism.
but  obamas  plan  is  closer  to  the  good  parts.  where  people  do  not  have  to  worry  about  not  going  to  the  doctor  because  they  don't  have  the  money.  i  personally  have  not  gone  to  the  doctor  in  years  (even  when  i  should  have)  because  i  cannot  afford  it.  i  am  paying  for  school,  food,  car,  rent,  cellphone--in  fact  i  am  almost  entirely  on  my  own.  but  i  could  not  afford  to  go  to  the  doctor  for  fear  that  i  couldn't  pay  rent  one  month,  or  pay  tuition  next  semester.  yet  the  person  sitting  next  to  me  goes  every  time  they  feel  sick,  gets  dentist  check  ups  regularly,  and  is  not  even  a  full  time  student.
 this  is  fucking  ridiculous.
look  at  mccain.  he  hasn't  had  a  hard  days  work  in  his  life.  he  was  bottom  of  his  class  at  the  naval  academy,  he  was  only  in  the  war  in  which  he  was  a  pow  because  of  his  father.  he  had  already  crashed  god  knows  how  many  planes  (more  than  one,  thats  for  damned  sure).  if  you  were  mccain's  commanding  officer,  would  you  let  him  fly  after  the  first  crash?  maybe,  but  the  second?  third?  especially  not  with  his  record  as  a  trouble  maker.
i  know  grades  and  rank  mean  nothing,  and  mistakes  happen,  but  of  your  own  ideals,  voo,  obama  rose  from  nothing.  he  as  close  to  epitomizes  the  american  dream  as  i  have  ever  seen.

my  parents  are  smart,  but  they  care  more  about  living  than  about  making  money.  they  have  lived  full  lives,  even  though  they  are  poor.  i  would  trade  wealth  for  life  experience  any  day.  what  needs  to  happen  is  the  abolition  of  that  dichotomy.  one  needs  to  not  worry  about  what  to  do  if  they're  sick.  the  answer  should  be  obviously  and  unequivocally  to  a  visit  to  the  doctor.
there  is  no  way  in  hell  mccain  would  understand  that,  being  babied  by  his  father's  reputation.

if  you  can  put  aside  your  bias  against  him,  and  watch  the  next  four  years,  please  compare  them  with  bush.  you  will  see  a  president,  as  opposed  to  an  imbecile,  then  ask  your  self  why  you  align  yourself  with  the  republican  party  who  elected  bush  as  their  candidate.

Sigh..  i  completely  agree  with  voodoo.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9XKOIvpa8s

Watch  that  video  and  you'll  see  that  it  is  bullshit  that  some  people  can't  figure  out  a  way  to  be  successful..  it's  lazyness  that  causes  this  belief.  Anyone  in  this  world  has  a  chance  to  make  it  big,  but  they  can't  just  sit  at  home  dreaming,  they  have  to  go  out  and  get  it.  Voo's  uncle  didn't  just  sit  at  home  in  a  shed  and  have  some  business  man  come  up  and  give  him  his  entire  business.  Voo's  uncle  probably  worked  his  ass  off  to  go  out  and  get  it.  Riddick,  it  is  somewhat  selfish  to  believe  this,  but  it  is  also  ignorant  to  not  even  in  the  slightest  bit  agree  that  people  aren't  ALWAYS  given  or  not  given  opportunity,  it  is  the  people  that  seek  it  that  come  out  on  top.

Riddick  has  got  the  best  point  out  there.

It's  just  plain  greed  and  selfishness  that  makes  people  dislike  the  concept  of  raising  the  taxes  for  those  who  make  over  $250,000  a  year.

Most  state  jobs  are  only  $50,000  -  $100,000  a  year.  Teachers,  police  officers,  fire  fighters,  etc,  the  real  heroes  of  our  cities  don't  even  make  $250,000  a  year.

Christ,  our  own  president  only  makes  $400,000  a  year  lol.

Voodoo,  your  family  might  have  worked  hard  for  their  wealth  but  there  are  people  out  there  working  2-3  jobs  and  still  making  under  $40,000  a  year  trying  to  build  and  support  a  family.  What  kind  of  a  life  is  that?  And  you're  saying  they  aren't  working  hard  to  put  food  on  the  table?  I  think  they  work  ten  times  harder  then  any  upscale  manager  of  a  million  dollar  a  year  company.

It's  like  someone  else  said.  Not  everyone  has  the  perfect  timing  to  make  it  in  the  world.  Some  people  just  don't  know  the  right  people  to  do  it.  And  it's  not  like  there  is  an  unlimited  number  of  positions  open  to  make  so  much  money  in.  There's  only  so  many  managerial/CEO  positions  per  company,  and  how  many  people  in  the  USA?

I  personally  would  rather  be  taxed  to  help  at  least  1  honestly  struggling  person  out  of  10  people  who  are  living  in  poverty,  or  may  be  abusing  the  government  funded  programs  to  help  people  living  in  poverty.

And  as  a  minor  working  from  16  we  start  to  get  taxed.  What's  funny  is  the  entire  American  revolution  revolved  around  no  taxation  without  representation,  yet  there's  2  years  of  getting  taxed  and  not  being  able  to  vote  for  the  people  who  tax  us.
