I recieved a message from Billy over MSN that said "hey, is this your profile..." and it had a link saying messenger.net and your email address attached. He swears that he didn't send it. seems that Billy's computer has been hijacked/hacked into. Anyway, you click on the link and you're basically screwed. it is a crazy spyware/malware hijacking prog that comes up on spybot as 'fakeMSN8beta'. you won't be able to get rid of it with spybot. you gotta dl spyware doctor and find the keygen.

once dling this spyware, it will control your computer by blocking certain security systems from working, and even downloading certain progs like hijackthis.exe if you are trying to find a remedy. I tried norton, and that didn't do anything. If this ever happens, get spyware doctor.

he sent it to me...I clicked it and nothing happened..404 error..

my router blocked it whatever it was..

no I just clicked on the link. It was a blank white screen. Nothing seemed to happen until I found it weird that I couldn't exit MSN without it saying, "you can't exit MSN since you have another application running like outlook express, internet explorer, etc.". I would have to sign out... not exit. so I looked into it a bit and ran adaware.

He sent me it too, i just dont know if it happened or not, and i remember i didnt create a profile so i never went further than opening the link.

you can't exit msn with IE open...It will always tell u that.. I use firefox since phoenix was out..much better..I always delete Internet explorer and outlook when I install windows...

is firefox anygood? maybe i should delete my ie and get firefox? any suggestions?

hmm i never had trouble with msn and ie at the same time nor have i had trouble with my ie... it works pretty fine for me Cool
