Gibbs  Technologies  Ltd,  the  world’s  only  High  Speed  Amphibian  (HSA)  technology  specialist,  today  unveiled  a  prototype  of  the  first  commercially  viable  high-speed  amphibian  Quadbike/All  Terrain  Vehicle  (ATV)  -  Quadski.

Quadski  is  the  third  demonstration  of  Gibbs’  HSA  technology  following  the  successes  of  the  Aquada  and  the  Humdinga.  It  is  capable  of  travelling  up  to  50  mph  (72  kph)  on  land  and  water  and  makes  the  transition  at  the  flick  of  a  switch.

Commenting  on  the  launch  of  the  Quadski  prototype,  Alan  Gibbs,  the  founder  of  UK  based  Gibbs  Technologies  Ltd.  said,  “Quadski  is  both  exciting  and  practical  with  a  multitude  of  uses”.

“I  know  consumers  will  love  the  fun  of  driving  a  Quadski  on  land  one  minute  and  then  head  straight  into  the  sea  or  river  the  next.  But  there  is  a  very  serious  side  to  Quadski  as  well:  emergency  services  and  aid  workers  will  be  able  to  reach  areas  and  people  no  two  or  four  wheel  drive  vehicle  could  reach.”

Man  the  places  i  would  go  with  this  thing!  This  has  to  be  one  of  the  most  badass  gadgets  ever!  i  want  one  and  hope  someday  they  will  go  into  mass  production.

I  could  really  have  some  fun  with  that  thing  at  the  Lake  of  the  Ozarks.  Holy  Moly.

I  haven't  read  about  it  yet  but  does  that  thing  have  a  jet  drive  for  both  the  jet  ski  part  and  or  do  the  wheel  and  axles  run  on  a  different  motor?

from  what  i  read  its  powered  by  the  same  160Hp  motor.  it  has  about  60  patents  on  how  they  switch  between  the  quad  and  jetski  part.  it  takes  about  5  seconds  for  it  to  happen.  man  if  that  thing  is  around  the  same  price  for  a  jetski  and  a  quad  together  i  would  consider  getting  one.

What  sucks  the  most  about  this  is  that  my  dad  and  I  just  recently  purchased  a  new  SeaDoo-Sport-Wake  board  edition  and  a  new  Polaris  ATV,  cant  remember  which  model  though.

As  for  pricing  goes,  i'm  sure  this  thing  will  be  as  much  as  a  top-of-the-line  ATV  and  PWC  combined  plus  a  few  more  grand  just  for  the  concept  of  it.

I  wonder  if  I  have  to  have  a  license  on  the  water  with  this  thing  Smile

I  told  my  pops  about  this  thing  and  thought  it  was  a  kickass  idea.  I'm  going  to  try  to  convince  him  to  investe  into  one  of  these  things  once  they  are  available.  All  I  need  is  another  reason  for  people  to  call  me  a  Lake  Rat  Smile
