15 Years of Quake 3

The day was December 2nd, 1999 when ID released what would tie everyone in our community together. 15 years ago this piece of software was released and sucked in thousands of gamers into the arena to battle it out with each other. Little did they know upon release it would spark a change in the gaming world bringing eSports into the primetime view of the masses. It also gave birth to this community of demo players and 1.16n standoffs forming a lifelong bond over the skill of a railgun and the finesse of a circle jump. Today we salute the game that we poured our heart and souls into, destroyed countless mice and mousepads on, upgraded video cards to get that magical 125fps or even destroyed videocards getting to 333fps. Thank you John Carmack for IDTech 3 powering the game, Graeme Devine and Tim Willits for the gothic design we loved, Adrian Carmack, Kevin Cloud and Paul Steed for those awesome textures we marveled at for so many years. Last but not least thank you Graeme Devine for getting it all together to make it the best fps for over a decade and the subject of our obsession for many, many years.

On behalf of o2o, what's left of the community and this broke ass website. Thank you for the wonderful 15 years of existence and happy birthday Quake 3 Arena!

Website Woes

Due to unforeseen events the website currently looks and performs like crap. I realize its been offline for little over a month and I know its no excuse but I just didn't have the time to investigate the root cause of the issue. This is a test bed I created a long while ago to play with new features and test out things while the main site remained normal. Turns out its the only thing still working and seems like only bots knew about it as well. Hopefully it remains online for the duration of the main site rebuild which might take some time due to my lack of availability at the moment but I can assure you we will be back in full motion soon enough. Please bear with the mess and forgive me for my tardiness on getting you all on this platform.

Removal of Godaddy's services

Due to Godaddy being a big asshat and helping write a bill of stupidity(SOPA) we have moved on from their services to namecheap as our new domain handler. If you know anyone using godaddy for any service let them know they are supporting a company that is threatening the internet as we know it. If SOPA passes o2o's very own website could be taken down for past posts in the forums such as "what music are you listing too?" & "funny videos thread" hell there are quite a few random pictures throw in posts that would blackout the site under the proposed bill. We arn't the only site opposing this, Reddit has been taking a stand and will do a blackout on Jan 18 that will be a part of.

A call for all former o2o's

Have you regretted your decision to leave the team for whatever reason? Well now that a new game is on the horizon, we are calling on you again to join the ranks and help us dominate a new playing field. With a simple post you can be back with your brothers and sisters who you have fought alongside of and plan on doing again with the upcoming release of Battlefield 3. Just check out this thread on the topic and post. Within a day or so you will be added back to full membership and regain all your previous access rights. I'm really looking forward to seeing EVERY rejoin because we need 32 minimum players for a full battle and it always pays to have stand ins in case one of us cant make it. I can't wait to see you all on the battlefield together because together we are Obligated2Own!

thread is located here: click me for topic

If it says you don't have access rights to view it then sadly you were not eligible for this offer. You can contact me through pm or any council member to discuss it further if necessary.
