Show  me  where  feedback  is  mentioned  in  your  original  statement.

"I  would  practice  more  before  showing  stuff  off"  does  not,  not,  mean  what  you  say  it  does.

I'm  telling  him  not  to  expect  feedback  after  one  day  of  practice.

That  statement  implies  that  one  day  of  practice  is  not  sufficient  for  somebody  to  give  feedback.   Ridiculous  statement.  People  can  give  feedback  after  one  hour  of  practice  if  they  want.

Your  original  statement  implies  that  his  work  is  sub  par  and  that  he  should  wait  until  it  is  better  to  ask  people's  opinions.   Except  instead  of  saying  "it's  not  good,  practice  more"  you  decided  to  1)  sugar-coat  it,  2)  be  sarcastic  (failed,  was  called  out  and  attempted  to  back  peddle  into  a  favorable  position)  or  3)  you  genuinely  can't  decipher  the  conceptual  difference  between  those  two  statements.

By  the  way,  "I  don't  see  anywhere  where  you  say  not  to  expect  feedback  after  so  little  practice"  is  not  an  invitation  for  you  to  make  a  smart  ass  suggestion  as  to  why  I  don't  see  feedback  mentioned.   It  is  a  simple  (factual)  statement  but  if  you  have  a  valid  argument  post  it  but  don't  attempt  to  be  smart  and  witty.

Honestly,  I  think  you  are  taking  my  posts  out  of  context.   I  didn't  mean  that  other  people  shouldn't  give  feedback  because  he  has  only  been  making  music  for  only  one  hour,  but  I  was  trying  to  tell  him  he  shouldn't  expect  to  get  feedback  because  it  wouldn't  be  what  he  wants  to  hear.   I  guess  you  could  say  I  was  sugarcoating  my  statement,  but  the  point  of  my  original  post  is  pretty  obvious.   I  didn't  want  to  say  "you  suck"  because  I  like  to  maintain  a  respect  for  people  and  what  they  make.   So  instead,  I  told  him  not  to  expect  feedback  since  he  only  has  three  songs  in  one  day.   He  should  work  on  making  more  material  and  practicing  before  asking  what  people  think  about  his  music.

Also,  I  wasn't  attempting  to  be  sarcastic  until  my  "Read?"  post.   I  am  also  implying  that  "showing  stuff  off"  means  "expecting  feedback".

Here  is  where  things  fall  apart  for  your  argument.   Perhaps  some  people  actually  think  his  music  is  good  and  give  positive  feedback.   You  assume  that  the  feedback  will  be  negative  just  like  you  assume  he  wouldn't  want  to  hear  that  feedback.   Just  because  you  may  not  handle  negative  feedback  well,  that  does  not  mean  others  don't.

You  don't  have  to  say  "you  suck"  because  that  is  extremely  general  and  not  helpful  at  all,  which  is  why  you  say  you're  doing  this--to  help.   Perhaps  "your  music  sucks"  is  more  fitting.   Rough  maybe,  but  that  doesn't  mean  it's  wrong.   In  any  case,  Tool  seems  like  a  guy  who  can  handle  it.

Well,  I  think  you  should  first  learn  the  correct  times  to  use  "so"  at  the  beginning  of  a  sentence  (You  can  probably  find  grammatical  errors  in  my  posts  but  I  see  this  error  often  and  think  people  should  know  otherwise.)   Also,  why  would  he  not  want  feedback  on  his  early  material?   Receiving  feedback  is  the  best  way  to  improve  in  an  art  and  receiving  it  early  is  extremely  beneficial  whether  it  is  positive  or  negative.  Plus,  he  was  obviously  expecting  feedback  since  he  concluded  his  first  post  with  "Tell  me  what  you  think."   Maybe  "not  to  expect  positive  feedback"  is  more  suitable  in  this  case  but  then  you  are  still  making  serious  assumptions.

I'm  posting  this  as  I'm  about  to  go  to  sleep  but  want  to  finish  by  telling  Tool  that  no  matter  how  little  eXtacy  thinks  of  his  work,  I  for  one  support  him  wholeheartedly  in  his  endeavors!

Lol,  calm  down..  sheesh.   Does  this  matter?   I  told  tool  I  liked  his  music  on  xfire.   I  even  asked  him  to  make  music  for  one  of  my  maps.   I  was  trying  to  be  nice.   There  is  no  point  in  trying  to  dissect  my  posts.

It  doesn't  matter  who  is  right  or  who  is  wrong.   Instead  of  trying  to  prove  that  you're  right  you  should  just  accept  what  I  meant  by  the  statement.   There  doesn't  need  to  be  a  500  word  post  criticizing  everything  I  type.   I'm  here  to  play  a  game,  not  to  partake  in  these  petty  arguments.
