I  remember  me  also  saying  dont  jus  buy  a  name  brand  cuz  its  well  known,  to  make  sure  u  read  the  reviews  first,  and  said  as  long  as  its  was  good.  And  u  cant  tell  me  that  for  that  price  thats  not  good.   Cool
Cuz  Asus  makes  some  shitty  mobo's  for  instance  the  one  i  have  now  is  asus  and  it  suks.

pretty  cheap  for  that  price.   but  just  a  couple  of  thoughts:

 1.   asus  actually  is  one  of  the  better  mobo  companies.   it's  in  the  top  tier  saleswise  along  with  abit.   that  isn't  to  say  that  every  mobo  they  produce  is  great  but  in  general  they  are  far  from  crap

 2.   flip  side  is  i've  heard  not  so  great  things  about  the  one  in  this  system  lol.  it's  one  of  the  first  generation  nforce4  boards  that  came  out  and  it  supposedly  has  a  loud,  unreliable  chipset  fan.   the  "premium"  version  of  this  board  is  supposedly  much  better  (passive  cooler  on  northbridge)

 3.   i've  heard  many  people  getting  screwed  on  tigerdirect  rebates.   dunno  how  true  it  is  but  it  seems  to  come  up  often  enough  to  worry  me.

 4.   for  $250,  it's  pretty  cheap.   building  yourself  can  get  close  to  that  though  (~$300)  with  possibly  better  parts.
 $50  Case
 $50  PSU
 $90  Mobo
 $110  processor  w/  hsf

 5.   waiting  for  intel's  conroe  may  be  a  good  idea  since  it's  supposed  to  be  out  shortly  (1-2mths)  and  completely  annihilate  amd  at  it's  projected  pricepoint.   it  will  at  the  least  cause  price  drops  with  amd...

 have  fun!

Smart  move  would  be  to  listen  to  me  since  well  I  have  been  involved  with  pc  computer/business  probably  before  he  was  born...

Don't  order  anything  from  TigerDirect.  Go  to  Newegg,  trust  me  they  are  A  LOT  better.

And  like  pr0  said.  Wait  till  conroe  comes  out  to  start  building,  it's  going  to  be  better  than  AMD  Athlon  FX-65.

Oh  and  I  suggest  you  don't  waste  a  lot  of  money  on  a  graphics  card.  Considering  how  DirectX  10  should  be  coming  out  in  the  next  month(s).
