Hey  guys,  Dan  here!  I  just  wanted  to  take  the  time  to  invite  you  all  to  join  in  on  one  of  the  most  elaborate  threewave  tournaments  in  the  1.16  communities  history.  First,  let  me  explain  how  the  draft  tourney  will  work.

Tourney  Information  (created  by  Rob  the  founder)  *********************
 What  is  a  draft  league?

For  those  of  you  who  aren't  aware  what  a  draft  league  is,  think  of  it  as  one  giant  Pickup  game.  Basically  after  the  deadline  to  signup  is  complete,  you  will  be  entered  into  a  draft.  The  captains  will  be  players  everyone  in  .16  respects  and  who  the  tournament  directors  feel  are  appropriate.  These  captains  will  one  by  one  select  players  from  the  list  of  signed  up  players.

This  ensures  a  general  fair  set  of  teams  which  means  teamwork  is  the  key.  Your  team  captain  will  'assemble'  you  together  most  likely  through  email,  MSN  or  AIM  first,  and  amongst  yourselves  you  can  select  a  team  name.  NOTE:  ALL  SIGNED  UP  PLAYERS  MUST  HAVE  A  FORM  OF  COMMUNICATION  SUCH  AS  EMAIL,  AIM,  or  MSN.  Once  your  team  has  met  each  other  and  thought  of  a  name,  time  will  be  given  to  work  out  lineups  and  decide  on  who's  best  where.

For  those  of  you  who  don't  like  or  play  3wave  often,  that's  too  bad.  Download,  and  learn  to  like  them.  CTF1  will  be  played  once,  because  this  is  of  course  .16,  but  that  doesn't  mean  you  shouldn't  learn  other  maps  as  well.

 How  do  scores  work?

When  things  are  set  and  ready  to  go,  and  teams  have  had  time  to  get  to  know  each  other,  a  round  robin  will  begin.  Points  will  be  awarded  as  follows:
 3  games  will  be  played

 3  points  for  a  win
 1.5  points  for  a  tie
 1  point  for  a  loss

Each  team  will  have  7  members,  6  picks  and  a  captain.  Games  will  be  3v3,  4v4,  or  5v5  depending  on  the  map.  You  may  decide  the  lineups  as  you  wish,  but  keep  note  having  1  extremely  strong  lineup  will  most  likely  leave  you  with  a  low  chemistry  second  lineup  to  fall  back  on.  Game  3  can  be  a  mixture  of  any  players  from  the  team.  Please  do  not  exclude.  Every  player  must  play  1  game  in  the  set.  Exceptions  include  absence,  lag,  etc.  Telling  a  team  member  not  to  show  is  NOT  an  excuse,  if  your  caught  doing  this  you  will  be  penalized.

Each  team  gets  a  choice  at  their  favorite  map  to  play  a  game,  and  game  3  will  be  CTF1  4v4.  Some  maps  are  playable  with  either  4's  or  5's.
Valid  maps  to  choose  from  include:

 q3wcp17  4v4  or  3v3
 q3wxs1  3v3
 q3w2  4v4  or  5v5
 q3wcp18  4v4
 q3wcp5  5v5
 q3wcp9  5v5
 q3wcp1  5v5
 q3wcp14  5v5

NOTE*  If  a  team  does  not  have  enough  members  at  the  time  to  play  a  large  map,  do  not  pick  it.  For  example,  if  your  opponent  could  only  manage  4  members,  don't  pick  wcp14,  its  too  big.  Also  note  if  a  team  has  only  3  members,  they  will  still  be  forced  to  forfeit  game  3,  because  it  is  a  4v4  automatically.

You  may  only  play  each  map  ONCE  per  set.

Timelimit  for  each  game  is  20  minutes.  If  the  game  is  still  tied  at  that  time,  an  extra  5  minutes  is  granted,  but  after  that  the  teams  get  1.5  points  a  piece.

What  do  we  do  when  we  arrive  on  our  game  days?
Each  team  is  given  15  minutes  for  a  member(s)  to  show  past  the  set  time.  After  this  if  a  team  lacks  members,  a  game  1  forfeit  is  submitted,  and  another  15  minutes  is  given  for  game  2.  Failure  to  have  enough  players  at  this  point  results  in  2  more  losses  and  the  set  is  over  with.

ALL  PLAYERS  MUST  TAKE  A  SCREENSHOT  BEFORE  EVERYGAME.  These  screenshots  must  be  sent  to  a  tournament  director  right  away  if  asked  for.  If  not  it's  an  automatic  3  game  suspension.

 How  can  I  get  'benched'?

Players  can  be  temporarily  benched  for  reasons  such  as:

 Disrespecting  the  other  team
Failing  to  let  a  team  member  play  at  least  1  match
 Generally  being  incooperative
 Failing  to  send  screenshot

 Playoffs?

Once  every  team  has  played  each  other  once,  they  will  begin  the  'playoff'  of  the  tournament  according  to  seeds.  Every  team  makes  the  playoffs.

Each  set  will  be  played  with  the  same  rules.  It  is  SUDDEN  DEATH  elimination.  Once  you  lose  you  are  OUT  in  exception  to  playing  for  7th  place,  5th  place,  3rd  place.

The  playoffs  do  WILL  earn  you  points,  but  only  to  determine  that  specific  set  winner.

The  final  round  will  will  be  best  2  out  of  3  with  infinite  overtime.

 Final  thoughts

Everyone  in  .16  is  welcome  to  sign  up.  Only  42  players  will  be  picked  so  if  you  aren't  picked,  don't  cry.  If  there  is  an  overwhelming  amount  of  interest,  an  extra  player  can  be  added  to  each  team(1  more  draft  round).

This  is  basically  just  to  get  quake  jumpstarted  again,  and  for  a  little  bit  of  fun.  At  this  point  there  isn't  a  prize  for  the  winning  team,  but  it  is  quite  possible  something  can  be  arranged.

If  you  have  any  questions,  post  them  on  the  forums.
Any  extra  thoughts  or  ideas  message  me  on  MSN  rob_590  [at]  hotmail  [dot]  com  (or  go  to  p16draft.net)

 Thanks,  and  GOODLUCK!
 ****************************

The  Captains  who  will  be  choosing  their  own  squadron  will  be  as  follows:
 1)  Rob  (from  eM  and  Foo,  NOT  one  of  the  other  many  Rob's  who  play  in  .16)
 2)  Dutra
 3)  Relentless
 4)  Meva
 5)  Soul
 6)  Bam  (hes  a  fag  though  =/)

The  tourney  invites  and  promotes  friendly  matches  against  the  very  best  that  Quake  3  has  to  offer.  If  you  feel  that  you  have  what  it  takes,  then  please  go  to  http://p16draft.net  and  signup  for  picking.  Thanks  for  your  interest  and  can't  wait  to  be  playing  with  or  against  you  in  the  near  future!

Btw,  this  was  copied  from  BaM's  at  -UE-  Forums.  Just  helping  him  to  inviting  everyone  to  this  tournament

Well,  this  is  not  coming  from  my  part.
Still  i've  been  thinking  in  making  a  TDM  Tourney  (back  in  old  times  huh  divine  Smile)Anyway,  i  would  have  to  think  about  doing  that  tourney  :P  Many  things  to  set,  etc.
Anyway,  this  is  not  about  making  a  TDM  Tournament,  just  about  CTF  Draft  Tournament  Smile
