Yeah, SSD may be faster, but it's not that much faster. The only notable things that make it faster are bootups and preloading. Even then, still isn't enough for the price really.

Besides, I would rather wait to see the day Racetrack Memory hits the market. If IBM can successfully finish their development on it, then it could be the best thing to happen since sliced bread. Smile

Skap is partially right. I have no experience with SSD but from what I read Skap got is summarized more or less.

Thing is though, SSD have improved with their second generation and the failure rate has decreased significantly. Honestly, if you really have money to blow I don't see the trouble of getting a small SSD to let things boot/load things up faster. Your OS will boot much faster and so will other programs. In gaming it will ONLY help you load levels faster but like Skap said, it usually waits for everyone to load and even then there is always a countdown before the game starts anyway. Unless you want to save yourself 5 seconds of load time if you join in the middle of a game (already loaded by other players), or in single player, there is no point.

My best advice is to wait till the price significantly drops and the failure rate continues to decrease. As of right now, there is too little benefit for the price. Unlike replacing a processor or motherboard, adding or replacing a HD is simple and quick and can be easily done in the future.

Yeah, I agree more with Nike. I care about boot times almost more than anything because I'm impatient as fuck and anything that improves that is awesome to me. The newer SSDs are better in reliability too. I don't know how big an issue it is now, but it really depends on what type of SSD you buy.

Totally up to you, like I said before, I personally think GTX590 is completely overkill. You are getting into the extremely expensive graphic cards that I have very little knowledge about.

What I would check if the GTX 590 is a dual GPU. If it is, check if it even does SLI. If it does, check if it even scales nicely.

If it doesn't do SLI or scale properly than it makes less sense to get it over a GTX 580. That card will play everything on high-ultra until the next mega demanding games comes out, which will probably be like four years (even then it will probably play medium-high). At that point you buy another GTX 580 (SLI) and you're set for the next few years.

sweet man, i'm going to be picking up a 6950 and flashing it to 6970 once I can actually save enough cash for it. It makes me so sad I have a kickass rig that has a 5700LE in it. dragging windows across the screen lags it.

Anyway, Godl1ke now that we have a lot of info to go by with the final build for BF3 its easy to see whats needed.

According to the initial reviews that 590/2600k will do the trick for 1080p max playable. Even a 580 should be fully playable but with lower MSAA which is just icing on the cake. For everyone else looking to get a videocard for the game id strongly suggest to go with nothing less then 1.5g of video ram. textures seem to top out at 1.4gb usage in game on most large maps.

So godl1ke for you, your final build should be something like this:
i7 2600k
nvidia 590 (myself i'm getting an AMD 6950 and flashing it to a 6970)
800w minimum psu (700w recommended my mfg but 800 seems safer)
8Gb RAM
P67 Mobo
some sort of hard drive/win7/tower/BD rom drive

Also, everyone saying SSD's are crap; you have no idea how awesome they can be. Maybe they tried the slower 200MB/s first and 2nd gen but the stuff thats out right now +580MB/s holy shit it smokes!. Traditional hard drives are somewhere around 100-130MB/s non raid. Don't even get me started on IOPS, SSd's absolutly kill hard drives. The future is SSD or even pci-e based ssd's, those are where it really is at.

The only concerns left to me...Are..Is 750w enough, or should I really go for 800w, like you said ? The friend that advised me on 750w also said, that CORSAIR makes the best PSU's, and I'll be just fine with 750w. Now im not sure :<

(( right now im looking at Professional Series™ Gold AX750 — 80 PLUS® Gold Certified Fully-Modular Power Supply...they say AX series is the best @ Corsair ?))

Also, about the SSD. It's very tempting :< Although, at this stage, SSD seems like a huge investment, yet me wants so bad ;D

Corsair is mostly made by Seasonic so they are awesome. I think the 750w should be fine for you since you probably wont have 9 hard drives and 5 fans with neon tubes and OC like a madman.

All the 80plus is efficiency at high loads meaning it will save your power bill. The higher the efficiency the cooler it will run and provide more stable voltages at high loads. To get 80plus certified you have to have 80% eff at 20% 50% and 100% loads. most decent psu's should do this anyway but they decided to make a "metal" rating sometime in 2008 to further show how well a psu preforms. In reality anything 80+ is decent gold and platinum are of course the bees knees in energy efficiency.
