This  is  the  kind  of  stuff  I  would  love  to  see  removed  from  q3  period.
A  gross  manipulation  of  (fake)skill  not  produced  by  the  player,  but  by  a  executed  script  with  multiple  commands  in  succession.

I'm  sure  everyone  has  seen  the  "Rocket  Jump"  script  which  is  entirely  different  and  quite  harmless.
The  new  breed  of  cheat  scripts  grossly  changes  the  "level  playing  field"  adage..

Anyone  willing  to  come  forward  and  give  me  this  script/post   it  here  and  or  send  it  to  Mav  directly  that  would  be  a  step  in  the  right  direction  to  alleviating  unfair  advantages..  Before  anyone  has  anything  negative  to  say  in  regards  to  removing  said  scripts,  unless  this  is  open  to  everyone  then  it's  considered  an  UNFAIR  advantage.

Like  PUNKbuster,  cmds  will  and  can  be  deactivated  or  reduced  to  hinder  game  manipulation  when  they  are  realized.  My  take  is  that  these  scripts  should  be  removed  to  keep  the  integrity  of  this  game  clean.

You  are  referring  to  the  boosting  script  that  I  saw  multiple  times  in  the  demo?  If  so,  it's  the  exact  same  as  the  "rocket/rail  jump  script",  except  this  one  just  has  it  timed  to  where  it  looks  down,  and  fires  at  that  precise  time.  Whereas  the  "rail  jump"  script  just  looks  all  the  way  down  and  has  no  precision.  It's  the  exact  same  commands,  just  more  well  refined.

To  disable  it,  you  would  have  to  remove  the  keyboard  looking  commands,  the  wait  command,  the  adjustment  of  sensitivity  and  pitchspeed,  and  possibly  disable  the  attack  command.  That  would  be  the  only  way  to  COMPLETELY  remove  and  hinder  the  scripts  useless.  But  by  also  doing  that,  you  cannot  play  the  game.  Lol.

So...  Really  there  isn't  jack  shit  we  can  do  about  it  aside  from  starting  to  universally  discourage  the  use  of  them.

 Also  the  demo  looked  clean.

 /edit-  Wow  I  can't  fucking  spell.  -_-

Script  junkies  are  annoying.   Personally  I  see  it  as  an  unfair  advantage  despite  how  lame  it  is.   Then  again,  that's  just  how  this  game  is  played  these  days  right?

Anything  that  could  possibly  be  used  as  an  advantage  to  be  "better"  or  "more  skilled"  than  the  other  will  be  manipulated  to  the  extreme.

All  we  can  really  do  is  discourage  the  use  of  these  scripts.     Rolling Eyes

The  scripts  are  really  annoying,  it  is  unrealistic  (if  you  can  say  that  in  a  game).

It  would  be  impossible  to  stop  the  use  :/

Well,  if  Maverick  changes  cl_pitchspeed  and  cl_yawspeed  to  be  cheat  protected  and  limited  to  100,  then  we  wouldn't  have  a  problem  since  those  scripts  use  that  command  in  excess  while  it  is  generally  useless  to  those  who  don't  wish  to  script.

they're  not  really  unfair  in  my  opinion.  It  just  makes  the  player  who  uses  them  lazy.  Also,  mainly  crappy  players  use  them.  They  can't  evade  attacks  on  their  own  or  have  no  strategy,  so  they  think  just  pressing  a  bunch  of  rj  scripts  will  make  them  impervious  to  being  shot.  In  fact  it's  quite  easy  to  shoot  someone  in  the  air.  If  you  look  at  players  in  "good"  clans,  hardly  any  or  no  players  use  them,  because  it's  a  waste  of  a  bind.  Besides,  I  used  to  use  the  basic  rj  script  and  it  was  annoying  as  hell  to  have  to  always  readjust  my  view  after  I  hit  it.  I  dunno,  your  call.

The  regular  rj  script  is  widly  used  and  I  personally  used  to  object  to  it  but  I  finally  gave  in  to  adding  it  to  my  cfg  during  my  last  trip  to  the  ranks  of  UE  -  I  still  have  it,  but  honestly  only  use  it  if  I  get  pissed  off  in  dm7  lava  lol.

My  biggest  issue  with  scripts  is  the  rj  forward,  swap  to  gaunt,  swap  back  to  railgun  script  I  basically  see  from  euro  clans.   That  specific  bind/script  could  be  controlled  by  servers  simply  requiring  default  (or  longer)  weapon  swap  delay.   I  would  LOVE  to  see  servers  get  back  to  that,  but  based  on  how  many  people  I  see  complain  when  they  are  forced  to  play  on  servers  that  actually  make  you  wait  to  swap  back  I  know  that  wont  ever  happen.

I'm  curious  to  see  how  bad  the  guy  in  the  H$  topic  was  abusing  things  such  as  this,  I'll  check  out  tonight  if  I  think  of  it.

that  doesn't  mean  you  should  compensate  for  the  laziness  by  using  these  ridiculously  stupid  scripts.   either  play  the  game  right  or  don't  play  at  all.

some  scripts  are  allowed  such  as  ixtimer  which  only  helps  you  to  time  items  but  it  doesnt  take  you  to  items  itself.
By  using  rj  script  you  move  thanks  to  a  machine  which  makes  it  a  cheat

The  fact  of  the  matter  is:  Â Using  something  that  enhances  one's  game  play  to  any  degree  beyond  their  skill  level  is  considered  an  unfair  advantage  to  those  who  play  against  that  player.

A  timing  script  is  quite  different  because  it  enhances  the  ability  to  time  an  item  rather  than  commit  an  action  that  can  physically  alter  game  play  dramatically.

I  don't  use  a  timing  script,  Joey  was  commenting  about  the  difference  of  a  timing  script  and  railjump  script  and  I  agree.   I  can  time  easily.   It's  second  nature.

ixtimer's  main  task  is  to  inform  your  retarded  teammates  when  items  spawn  and  actually  make  them  go  there
