Recently during a scrim against qOs, I found out that there were actually people posing to be qOs members.   They turned out to be dutra, lex, and syko.   Instead of running off with the little bit of information I had, I decided to learn more.   So I started talking with dutra while keeping all the information he handed me.

I knew that everything would seem a bit "fishy" if I were to take on this task myself, so I informed a few of the prominant clans' refs and leaders about my intentions: key, wolf classic, qOs leaders, and eM leaders.

I found out that dutra dubbed him and his crew as part of a "rebellion".   The rebellion is an organization led by Dutra and Lex.   Their goal is to abuse exploits in the 1.16n release of quake 3, and obtain vital information about the servers running this version.   They are able to obtain both the ref and rcon passwords.

Eventually I gained enough of their trust, and I asked for eM's rcon.   I consulted with Bam and the rcon password that I was given was correct.   He told me it was fine to crash their server so that I could go higher in the ranks within the rebellion.   I also asked for wolf's permission to tag up as him during a match in xC's server.   Dutra was tagged as pwnzor's during the match.   At the end of the match he crashed the server.

Below is a screenshot that I took of their private forums.   Listed within the screenshot are the members of the rebellion.   Calie was just added by dutra, but he never actually confirmed that he would be joining the rebellion.   RJit's affilition with this organization is still a bit inconclusive.   Syko doesn't appear below because he just quit, although his abuse in the 1.16 community still continued.

So the players involved are:

dutra
lex
cakez
blade
syko
gex
rjit (still for check)

It's hard for me to post this, but I feel it is necessary for the sake of the 1.16n community. Many of the rebellion's members who took part in these malicious acts were friends of mine at some point in my gaming career.

Once I was found to be a spy within the rebellion, one of the members (gex) threatened to hack my pc, and told me I would pay for taking SS's of their private forums. In my opinion, I was doing what any one that cared for the 1.16 quake community would've done. They were able to successfully hack many servers, pose as members of clans, and crash many clans' servers during important matches/scrimmages. I believe they should be banned from accessing any of our servers, so that their malicious acts will stop once and for all.

I'm actually still trying of find what method they are using for steal the rcon in the servers.

Now it's the decision of each clan take care about this .

We already knew about this for awhile now and really they aren't doing shit. So they crash our server every once and awhile and tag as somebody in a clan we're scrimming. It's just futile attempts to get attention and respect. I do give them props for being able to get ref and rcon but it seems like it's not that hard.

I have heard about this as well. I am guessing if they can crash servers they can get around simple IP bans.

Kids will be kids and obviously they have no life if they have to go to these means to disrupt a community. Very sad if you ask me.
