As  of  recent,  Alliance  of  Valiant  Arms  has  become  available  on  steam  for  free.  I  had  a  look  at  one  of  the  videos  and  was  instantly  interested  in  seeing  what  this  game  really  had  to  offer.  Videos  below  show  some  action  found  off  steam  for  survival:

It  is  made  by  ijji  in  late  2009  I  believe  and  has  some  rather  decent  graphics.  There  are  number  of  modes  with  their  own  unique  maps  worth  trying  out.  Some  of  the  modes  in  this  include:  Annihilation  (team  vs  team  battle),  FFA,  Survival  (Fend  off  hordes  of  AI),  Escort  (Team  vs  Team  tank  escort  for  instance),  and  Demolition  (Tribute  to  CS).

Three  different  inter-swappable  in  game  classes  are  available  known  as  Pointman,  Rifle  Man,  and  Sniper  (If  I  have  that  correct).  Although  these  classes  dictate  what  primary  weapon  and  gear  you  have  when  you  spawn,  the  primary  weapon  can  be  swapped  with  a  downed  enemy's  weapon  if  desired.  There  is  actually  a  leveling  up  system  for  ranks  which  allows  you  to  get  some  better  stuff  once  you  get  into  higher  ranks  (should  note  that  this  does  not  mean  you  will  be  exceptionally  tougher  than  others  just  because  of  better  gear).  Multiple  rewards  are  given  out  each  level  and  if  you  do  well  enough  in  games,  you  can  get  combat  ribbons  and  badges  depending  upon  the  situation.

Beginner  challenges  allow  faster  leveling  at  the  start  for  every  one  you  complete.  There  are  also  other  bonuses  that  exist  like  gaining  weapons  or  items  from  survival  modes,  but  that  is  about  all  I  know  for  those  things  so  far.

There  are  no  significant  lag  issues  on  US  servers  and  the  "delag"  is  almost  perfect  for  making  your  shots  (some  corner  lag  does  exist,  but  it  usually  isn't  always  noticeable).  All-in-all,  for  those  of  you  who  have  steam  and  haven't  tried  this  game  yet  should.  After  all,  for  the  quality,  this  free  to  play  game  is  well  worth  the  effort  to  download  (5  gbs  in  size  infact)  and  is  very  active  with  some  servers  reporting  full  loads  at  times  right  now.
