Am  I  misuderstanding  sarcasm  here,  you  guys  not  happy  about  this  ?

Those  pre-order  bonuses  dont  affect  me  one  bit  for  some  reason.  They're  not  even  overpowered.  Why  is  everyone  crying  over  these  details  ?  I'd  understand  if  something  was  wrong  with  the  base  game  (like  subscription  fees  monthly),  but  this  is  just  their  strategy.
They  did  the  same  thing  with  BC2,  unlocking  some  sniper  and  f2000  early  or  w/e  for  people  pre-ordering,  and  that  did  that  change  ?

And  why  not  help  out  this  franchise  with  pre-ordering  the  beast  ?  You're  going  to  buy  it  anyway.  And  dont  you  want  battlefield  to  win  over  cod  in  sales  ?  I  know  I  do.

I  agree  with  what  Mega  had  to  say  before..  It  is  one  thing  to  have  something  downloadable  on  multiple  sites,  but  to  only  allow  pre-ordering  on  EA  itself  is  kind  of  ridiculous  and  only  seeks  to  hurt  their  sales.  v.v

The  other  thing  I  noticed  about  this  current  generation  of  games  is  that  DLC  is  starting  to  take  over  more  and  more  of  current  releases  in  regards  to  physical  media.  The  continued  adoption  of  eastern  methods  of  distribution  is  considerably  nice,  but  when  I  want  to  buy  something  that  I  know  is  going  to  be  badass,  I  would  rather  like  to  have  the  entire  deal  in  my  hands  so  I  can  parade  around  with  it.  xD

However,  I  can  easily  foresee  the  reason  behind  this  as  games  are  becoming  too  large  to  store  on  discs  which  are  apparently  falling  behind  in  necessary  cost  to  capacity  ratio.  I  damn  wished  those  holographic  discs  I  read  about  many  years  back  had  come  out  already  lol.

Nope.  If  EA  has  more  sales,  THEY  become  the  money  whores.  I  want  to  have  that  great  but  less  popular  game  on  my  computer,  not  that  bad  but  super  popular  thing  I  regret  I  bought.

I  wouldn't  mind  if  BF3  became  the  new  leader  in  fps  games.  Makes  more  noobs  to  pwn  and  fresh  talent  to  recurit  for  here.  evil3

All  of  this  is  to  be  taken  with  a  grain  of  salt  though.  until  I  actually  play  the  game  everything  is  just  what  it  is,  speculation.  Graphics  and  great  sound  are  one  thing  but  I  also  need  things  like  good  netcode,  great  movement  and  a  solid  map  design.  I'm  sure  this  games  going  to  be  polished  but  knowing  dice  there's  bound  to  be  a  glitch  here  or  there  for  the  first  month.  Id  like  to  keep  my  crazy  fanboy  excitement  down  until  I  see  a  demo  or  tons  of  multiplayer  footage.  I  don't  want  to  see  crazy  things  like  the  titans  in  2142  lagging  like  crap  across  the  map.

Well,  I  agree  and  disagree  there  with  you.

I  think  CoD  series  was  a  lesson  to  all  developers  AND  publishers,  and  I  think  they've  learned  from  it.
The  reason  WHY  I  want  BF3  to  go  over  the  top  with  sales  is  because...if  they  do,  and  if  we  let  them  have  it,  they  will  learn  one  lesson  -  their  success  is  possible  because  of  the  game's  engine  and  quality,  not  because  of  the  advertising  campaign  that  IW  had  used  to  sell  their  games.

If  they  understand  that  lesson,  next  time  they  want  to  release  lets  say  BF4  or  BC3,  they  (EA)  will  keep  in  mind  and  agitate  DICE  to  go  for  quality,  because  it's  the  thing  that  payed  off.

Hehe.  Yeah,  when  you  think  about  it  -  the  games  are  most  fun  in  first  3-5  months.  The  time  when  your  skill  and  adaptability  propells  you  to  the  top,  and  newbs  are  just  yet  starting  to  learn  from  your  gameplay.

Meganoob  wrote  (View  Post):

Indeed,  after  the  last  patch  BC2  has  horrible  hit  detection.  You  hit  a  headdy,  you  see  blood,  you  hear  the  bucket-bang  sound,  but  the  fucker  just  turns  around  and  runs  away.  Woot

And  about  DICE  and  glitches...I've  played  CoD  games  to  death,  and  now  I'm  trying  to  play  BF  games  to  death  lol.  The  biggest  differance  I'm  noticing  is  scale.  Not  just  map-size  scale,  but  THINGS  you  can  do  in-game,  and  things  that  are  thought  out  by  the  developer.

Battlefield  series  has  much  more  sophisticated  games  in  comparison  to  CoD.  I  think  one  or  two  glitches  are  to  be  expected,   hopefully  they  aren't  decisive.

Very  informative  video  on  short  multiplayer  gameplay  that  had  been  introduced  by  Dice  awhile  back.  Just  hearing  what  they  have  figured  out  from  the  video  has  me  all  the  more  excited  hehe.

Wow,  I  stopped  watching  these  videos  for  a  while,  and  lost  interest  into  buying  the  game.  But  now  that  I've  watched  more,  I  feel  like  a  part  of  my  saved  money  will  serve  for  upgrading  my  computer  &  buying  the  game.

I  have  been  playing  Alpha  since  yesterday  and  let  me  tell  you.

 GAME  OF  THE  YEAR.

Even  in  Alpha  the  game  plays  like  smooth  butter.   Hit  detection  is  spot  on.   Graphics  and  sound  are  top  notch  and  it's  a  ton  of  fun  even  for  Rush  mode.   I  am  raping  bitches  already.
