Ok I bought a Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 for an older computer I use from time to time, but the only problem is, it won't work! I've tried pretty much everything with the same result. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers etc. change the BIOS from Motherboard video to PCI video It loads up fine until it gets past the windows home edition part then the screen goes completely black, Everything is loading, but with no picture and I'm out of ideas so give me some thoughts

1. remove vidoecard (new one)
2. put back old one.
3. see if windows loads properly, if so find newer drivers for 5200.
4. If still unable to load suspect bad .dll installation or wrong driver set.
5. use Driver Cleaner to remove all traces of 5200 drivers, download new web bases drivers and reinstall.
6. depending on how old your mobo you might have to disable on board video, assuming you have on board vid.
6. if not okay post.

Might want to also try different sets of drivers..certified WHQL and non-certified WHQL... Smile

I took the old video card back and got the same one and now it works fine Cool
